Baked apples in caramel - step-by-step recipe with photo. Apples in caramel: step-by-step recipe for making dessert with photos Step-by-step instructions for caramelizing dried apples

Recently, caramel apples have become increasingly popular. Not only children, but also adults love this delicacy. They are sold in specialized outlets, shops, and fast food restaurants. They look attractive and appetizing. Thanks to the stick, they resemble an upside-down popsicle.

This sweetness is quite easy to make at home.

Products needed:

  • approximately 6-8 apples, you can take more or less depending on your needs (for yourself or guests),
  • 300-400 gr. caramel,
  • 3-4 tbsp. l. cocoa,
  • 1 pack of edible sprinkles, perfect for Easter cakes,
  • 100 gr. water,
  • 2-3 tbsp. l. Sahara,
  • pointed wooden or plastic chopsticks, you can take sushi utensils.

It's best to use cocoa that has been processed with sugar, like Nesquik. It looks lighter than the original. Regular powder is too bitter and even the sweetness of caramel will not be able to neutralize this taste.

First, you should bake the apples. Fresh ones will do, but processed ones are much tastier, sweeter, softer, and more convenient to eat.

In addition, fruits cooked in a slow cooker or oven have great benefits for the body:

  1. Low calorie content: only 45 per 100 g. Even with caramel, such a dish will not harm your figure. The pulp quickly fills the stomach, has an enveloping property, and gives a feeling of fullness for a long time.
  2. Contains many vitamins and minerals. It’s not for nothing that they say that eating one baked apple every day will help maintain youth, beauty and health.
  3. Useful for pregnant women and nursing mothers. Replenish the necessary reserves of iron and magnesium.
  4. Suitable for introducing the first mono complementary food to infants.
  5. Normalize blood sugar levels.
  6. Have a beneficial effect on digestion. They contain a large amount of fiber and restore intestinal permeability. Remove harmful substances from the body, which helps fight diarrhea.

The fruits must be washed, the tail and stalk removed. Place food foil on the bottom of the multicooker bowl. Place apples on it. Pour 100 gr. water, sprinkle sugar on top. Set the baking program, it lasts 40 minutes. During this time, it is worth preparing the sweet sauce.

How to make caramel for baking apples

  1. take 200 gr. water, or better yet, homemade grape or cherry compote, or store-bought pomegranate juice. Only these three products can give the final result a lasting color,
  2. 400 gr. Sahara,
  3. combine the ingredients in a narrow, deep ladle to make it easier to dip the fruit later,
  4. turn on the burner to medium power, place a saucepan on it,
  5. wait until the contents boil, reduce the heat slightly,
  6. boil for 30-40 minutes, the liquid should reduce by about half,
  7. turn off the heating surface, allow the syrup to cool and thicken. Otherwise, the caramel will not be able to linger on the walls of the fruit and will drain.

During this time, the apples will definitely have time to bake and cool. They need to be transferred to a plate, the foil removed from the multicooker, the liquid drained, and the used sheet thrown away. In this case, the bowl will remain completely clean.

Insert a wooden stick with the pointed end inward into the middle of each fruit, in the place where the stalk was.

Shake the sprinkles onto a plate and mix all the figures.

Place cocoa on a separate saucer. These two options will act as breading.

Dip each apple thoroughly into the cooled caramel, covering all areas. Raise the fruit above the syrup to drain off any excess liquid. Set aside. Do this work with all the fruits. After 15 minutes, repeat the manipulation.

After the excess syrup has drained a little, you need to roll a couple of apples in sprinkles, two in cocoa, and leave the rest without breading. Or make one option, for example, process all the fruits in cocoa or only in sprinkles.

There can be many variations for the final result. Small nuts, seeds, and broken cookies are suitable as breading. The variety of products is limited only by imagination and preferences.

Pour the caramel syrup into a baking dish, place the apples cut side down in it, and put this beauty in the oven. Bake for about 20 minutes, without turning the apples.

This simple but delicious dessert with a surprise inside is sure to please you and your children! Looks interesting and tastes simply wonderful! I make this dessert every fall when the apples are ripe. I advise you to try it too, dear Alimero readers!

Below I will post a detailed recipe with photos.

Difficulty of preparation: It’s difficult to pull out the cores, everything else couldn’t be simpler.

Cooking time: about 20 minutes baking and prep time

Ingredients:

    Caramels – 5-10 pcs.

    Powdered sugar - for sprinkling

Preparation progress:

For dessert we will need apples and caramel candies in equal quantities. If your apples are not large—orchard apples—then we will need small caramels. In the store, I chose the smallest candies I could find. I think montpensier-type caramel or round lemons would work well here. Last year I made these “Dream” and “Snowball” caramel apples, but that year the apples were larger.

So, let's take apples. If you pick the apples yourself, pick them together with the stem. It will make a baked apple look much more interesting.

Wash the apples well. I usually put them in a colander and rinse them.

Now we need to carefully cut off the top and bottom of the apple. The upper part with the stalk will serve as a kind of lid. And we cut off the bottom one to stabilize the apples so that they don’t roll out on the baking sheet.

Now the hardest part is removing the core from each apple. I don't have a special tool for this, so I dig it out with a knife. First I make cuts around the core. Then I insert the knife into the center and make screwing movements. And the core breaks and is taken out. Then, if a wider recess is required, it can also be enlarged using a knife.

Place a small caramel candy in the formed cavity so that you can evenly cover the cut top.

Take parchment paper or any silicone baking dish, you can also use a silicone mat. I used parchment.
We place our apples on parchment.

Turn on the oven at 200 degrees and bake for 7-20 minutes. Cooking time depends on the size of your apples. But usually they cook very quickly. Mine were ready in 10 minutes.

Remove the apples from the oven carefully with a spatula so that they do not bruise. Place them on the heifers and sprinkle with powdered sugar or cinnamon. You can also add mint.

Bon appetit!
