Fill the peas with plenty of water and leave to soak overnight or for 6-8 hours. The peas will swell and increase in volume, which means they are ready for cooking. After soaking, wash the peas and add two glasses of water. Please note that the proportion of peas and water is 1:2. We start cooking over low heat.


Cook the peas for 1-1.5 hours until all the water has evaporated, the peas become soft and completely boiled. At the end of cooking, add salt and stir to achieve the desired taste.


Blend the finished peas with a blender until puree is formed. If you don’t have a blender, then use a simple and ordinary potato masher.

We carefully sort the rice, rinse it, put it in a saucepan and fill it with hot water. Then put it on the fire, bring it to a boil, reduce the flame and cook over low heat until fully cooked. After this, combine the rice with boiled green peas and rub the hot mass along with the liquid through a sieve. You can also grind everything in a blender until smooth, and then bring to a boil, adding salt solution to taste. When serving mashed potatoes with green peas, season with butter.

Green pea puree recipe

Ingredients:

  • potatoes – 1 kg;
  • canned peas - 1 can;
  • butter – 50 g;
  • milk – 200 ml;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • bay leaf – 1 pc.;
  • spices.

Preparation

We wash the potatoes, peel them and cut each tuber into 4 parts. Then put it in a saucepan, fill it with water and set it to simmer over medium heat, adding salt to taste. About 10 minutes before readiness, add bay leaf and peeled onion. After the time has passed, carefully pour the water into a separate bowl, take out the onion and bay leaf. Leave the lid of the pan open to dry the potatoes a little.

Next, knead it thoroughly so that there are no lumps. Heat the milk in a saucepan, but do not boil it, and pour it into the potatoes. Once again, knead everything thoroughly to obtain a homogeneous puree-like mass. Now throw canned green peas into the potato broth, put it on the stove, bring to a boil and discard in a colander.

Let the liquid drain and mix the peas with. When serving, place the mixture on plates, smooth the surface with a spoon and make a small indentation at the top in the form of a pattern. Pour melted butter over canned green pea puree and sprinkle with herbs.

Mashed potatoes with green peas and garlic

Ingredients:

  • potatoes – 1 kg;
  • garlic – 3 cloves;
  • frozen green peas – 350 g;
  • butter – 25 g;
  • sour cream – 3 tbsp. spoons;
  • spices.

Preparation

Before you start preparing frozen green pea puree, light the oven and leave it to warm up to about 180 degrees. Grease a small baking tray or baking dish with butter and place the peeled head of garlic. Place in the oven for 30 minutes and bake.

During this time, peel the potatoes, wash them and put them in hot water. Bring to a boil and cook over moderate heat for 20 minutes until readiness. Then throw some salt and frozen green peas into the pan. Boil it together with the potatoes for about 5 minutes, and then carefully drain the water and return the pan to the stove. We wait until all the moisture has evaporated and turn off the heat. Add sour cream, throw in a piece of butter and squeeze the peeled garlic through a press.

Next, knead everything thoroughly with a masher and beat with a spoon or whisk until a homogeneous fluffy mass is formed. Season the finished dish with spices to taste and serve as a vegetable side dish. This original and hearty puree goes best with fried lamb.

Let's start preparing delicious pea puree. It can be fresh peas or frozen, with the latter there is much less fuss, but fresh pea puree has a sweeter taste. First, wash and dry all the greens well. Cut the green onions and mint quite coarsely. Then you will still need to grind everything with a blender, so you shouldn’t try to grind it. The pea puree I am sharing the recipe for will be super green and very pretty!
Take a frying pan, heat it up, pour in vegetable oil and fry the green onions for 3-4 minutes. Add the mint and fry for another 2 minutes. At this moment, the aroma of herbs, especially mint, fills the entire kitchen and your mouth begins to water. Mint especially goes well with green peas, I would say: perfect!
I make puree from frozen green peas; if you use fresh ones, then, of course, you need to peel them. Pour the green peas into the pan without defrosting, stir, cover with a lid and reduce the heat. We wait until it defrosts and simmer until ready for 5-10 minutes. During this time, we constantly taste the peas: they should become soft and sweet. As soon as it reaches the desired state, turn off the heat. Open the lid, add salt and pepper.
We take out a blender, put the peas and herbs into it and grind them well. The photo already shows the future of green pea puree with mint.
If necessary, scoop up the unmelted puree with a spatula several times and continue grinding. The consistency of delicious pea puree should be very tender.
Add butter and mix pea puree well. It will give the green pea dish a bright, creamy taste.
