Recipe with photo: lavash roll with ham

Using a knife, spread a thin layer of melted cheese onto the first sheet of pita bread laid out on the table.

When preparing a pita roll with ham, pay special attention to the edges, because often they remain ungreased and the outermost pieces turn out dry and empty.

Place pre-washed and dried green salad leaves on top of the cheese.

If you don’t have salad on hand, feel free to replace it with any other herbs - parsley, dill, etc.

Cover the top with another sheet of lavash and spread a thin layer of mayonnaise evenly over the entire surface.

Cut the ham into very thin slices (you can ask for this to be done on a special machine when purchased in a store for the thinnest thickness). Place the ham slices on the surface of the pita bread. There is no need to spread it in a continuous layer; rest assured, it will be evenly distributed around the entire circumference when folded.

Carefully and tightly wrap the pita bread into a roll. To make it easier to roll, I suggest first cutting a sheet of pita bread crosswise into two halves and folding it lengthwise.

Wrap the roll in cling film or put it in a plastic bag, put it in the refrigerator for at least an hour so that the pita bread is soaked.

Cut the lavash roll with ham into slices 1.5÷2 cm thick.

Place the pieces on a plate and garnish with olives and parsley.

The appetizer is ready, it's time to set the table.

The secrets of delicious homemade lavash rolls with ham

  • Ham and vegetables for appetizers should be cut as thin as possible so that they can be easily rolled up.
  • For this snack we will need thin and unleavened lavash - the kind that is sold in the bread departments of supermarkets or in Armenian bakeries.

Its blandness will favorably highlight the taste of meat and other fillings, and its small thickness - no more than a book leaf - will allow you to give the treat the desired shape without much effort.

  • Cucumber can be used not only fresh, but also lightly salted and pickled.
  • It is better to take tomatoes that are not very juicy, otherwise they will soften the thin bread too much and it will not hold its shape.
  • Mayonnaise can be safely replaced with sour cream, adding a little salt and pepper for spiciness.

  • ham - 350 grams

  4. Chop the greens and garlic (you can use a grater
  5. Mix all the ingredients in a cup, add one or two eggs (make sure the filling is not too liquid), spices and mix everything thoroughly.
  6. The total weight of the filling is approximately 650 grams, you can safely increase this amount, then the pita bread roll with cheese and ham will be higher in calories and more impressive.
  7. We lay out two pita breads on the table, one on top of the other, that is, the base of the roll turns out to be two-layered.
  8. Distribute the filling evenly over the entire surface of the pita bread, leaving a couple of centimeters at the edges so that the filling does not fall out during the rolling process.
  9. Roll the pita bread widthwise into a roll.

  11. Place sour cream on the surface of each roll (about 1 tbsp per piece) and distribute evenly.
  12. My miracle oven only bakes on top, so after one side of the rolls was toasted, I turned them over, brushed them with sour cream and put them back in the oven.
  13. The total baking time is 15 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees.
  14. In principle, instead of an oven, you can use a microwave with a grill to melt the cheese and fry the roll.
