How to cook

We prepare the products. Ready puff pastry first take it out of the freezer and let it melt at room temperature. The dough should be soft. Now let's move on to preparing the filling. Place the frozen cherries in a frying pan with a thick bottom and simmer over low heat for 1-2 minutes. When the cherries begin to release juice, add sugar and stir with a wooden spatula for even distribution. Next, add starch and do the same. Keep the mixture on the fire for another 5-9 minutes. It is important to stir the filling all the time because the starch sets very quickly and lumps can form and the filling will be spoiled.

As soon as the mixture begins to boil, remove it from the heat. Ready filling must cool completely.

Now let's move on to preparing the bagels. Take the finished puff pastry out of the packaging and place it on a flat surface sprinkled with flour. Pressing a little with a rolling pin, roll it out. It is not recommended to diligently roll out puff pastry, as it easily loses its puff-like structure and does not rise during baking, so it is better to stretch it with your hands on the board using smooth movements of your palms. Also, do not add too much flour, as this can cause the dough to be clogged and tough after baking.

Cut the dough into equal medium-sized triangles. The base should be about 5-7 cm.

Place 1 teaspoon of cherry filling on the edge of each triangle and wrap the dough from the edge to the center, giving it the shape of a beautiful bagel.

We move on to the final stage - baking. To the greased vegetable oil Place the bagels on the baking sheet at a distance of 3-4 cm from each other. Each bagel should be greased with milk or egg.

Bagels with cherries are a wonderful pastry that, even in winter, will remind you of warm summer days and fill the house with a delicious aroma.

  2. If bagels bake for more than 30 minutes, they may turn out hard on top;
  3. As fruit filling You can use pears, peaches, apricots (also dried).

Step 1: prepare the dough.

In order to start preparing the dough, we need to heat the milk. There is no need to bring it to a boil, the temperature should be approximately 35 - 40 degrees. This temperature is optimal for yeast to rise. So, in a deep plate or bowl, mix the yeast and 4 tablespoons Sahara. Then pour this mixture with heated milk, mix and leave for a while, while we prepare the eggs. We rinse them under running water and dry them with kitchen towels, then place two small deep plates in front of us and, breaking one egg, separate the yolk from the white. Break the second egg into the plate with the white, but do not separate it. Add 1 tablespoon of milk to the yolk and mix thoroughly until smooth; we will need this mixture later. We return to the yeast, pour the egg and white into it, add the required amount of sifted wheat flour and salt to taste. After this, we begin to knead the dough until it has a homogeneous consistency without lumps.

Step 2: Melt the butter.

Place a piece of butter in a small saucepan and place it on the burner. Turn the stove temperature to a low level and, with constant stirring, melt the butter. Let the liquid cool to room temperature.

Step 3: knead the dough.

After the butter has cooled slightly, pour it onto our kneaded dough and, with clean hands, mix the fat into the dough directly in the bowl. This process should take you about 7 - 10 minutes.

Step 4: prepare the cherries.

Place fresh cherries in a colander and rinse them under running water, then wipe them with a kitchen towel and place them in a cup or other convenient container. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and mix thoroughly with the berries. If using as a filling Cherry jam, then there is no need to add sugar.

Step 5: form the bagels.

The filling for our bagels has been prepared, so we can proceed directly to preparing the baked goods. Place our dough on a flat surface and cut it into 3 equal parts with a knife. After this, we arm ourselves with a rolling pin and roll out each part into a round-shaped layer with a thickness of about 1 centimeter. Then we cut it into 8 approximately equal slices, a total of 24 slices should be obtained from this amount of dough, that is, 24 bagels. Next, spread the cherry filling onto the edge of these slices using a teaspoon. We wrap the slice in a bagel, fasten the edges of our confectionery product so that the filling does not leak out. Now we cover the baking sheet with baking paper, lay out the formed bagels and leave them for 15 minutes next to the stove.

Step 6: bake the bagels.

Preheat the oven until 160 degrees Celsius and after 15 minutes, using a kitchen brush, grease the baking surface with a mixture of milk and egg yolk. Place the prepared bagels in the oven to bake on 10 minutes. During this time, they will be covered with a delicious golden brown crust and will be completely cooked. We take the finished baked goods out of the oven, helping ourselves with oven mitts.

Step 7: serve fluffy bagels with cherries.

Let the finished baked goods cool slightly and then transfer them to a beautiful plate; the top of the dish can be decorated with powdered sugar or sesame seeds. Hot aromatic tea, cocoa or coffee is suitable as a drink, and for children you can serve warm milk or freshly squeezed juice. Fluffy bagels with cherries are ready!

Bon appetit!

Before you start preparing baked goods, you must sift the flour, thereby enriching it with oxygen and getting rid of unnecessary flour lumps.

The dish will become more flavorful if you add a little vanilla extract or vanilla sugar to the dough. IN this recipe can be used not only fresh berries
